Turid Synnoeve Aas

Turid Synnøve Aas is a Senior Scientist in the Nutrition and Feed Technology Department at Nofima. She holds a PhD in Nutrition from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), and her research covers a range of feed-related issues in aquaculture.

In recent years, her work has focused particularly on feed utilisation, resource efficiency and uneaten feed and waste feed material, commonly referred to as sludge. Her sludge-related research examines feed and its physical properties, and how these affect both the quantity and characteristics of the sludge produced.

Her work on sludge has included fish trials, mass-balance studies, modelling and technology development.
