Sunndal is located in Indre Nordmøre in the county of Møre og Romsdal and is the largest municipality in the county in terms of area. The administrative centre is Sunndalsøra, where 4,000 out of a total of about 7,000 inhabitants live. The administrative centre has a lot to offer in terms of trade and services.

Sunndal is a short distance from two airports at Molde and Kristiansund, and has good bus connections, as well as being close to Oppdal via European route E6 and the Dovre Railway line. It is easy to get to Sunndal by car, bus, train or plane.

Transport

Bus

Vy Buss is based in Sunndalsøra and operates services on various routes in Møre and Romsdal and Trøndelag. There are daily services from Sunndalsøra to Molde, Ålesund, Kristiansund, Oppdal and Trondheim.

Train

Oppdal Skysstation is located on the Dovre Line. Vy operates many services from across the country that arrive or depart from Oppdal Skysstation.

Air

To/from Molde Airport Årø with: Norwegian, SAS and Widerøe

To/from Kristiansund Airport Kvernberget with: SAS and Widerøe

There is a bus service to Sunndal from both airports, but not all departures connect with bus services.
