René Alvestad

I januar 2023 ble RASforsk offisielt åpnet i Skulgambukt ved Havbruksstasjonen på Ringvassøy. I en nybygget hall på 1350 kvadratmeter er det etablert et utdannings- og forskningsanlegg som skal bidra til økt kunnskap om landbasert oppdrett.

René Alvestad is a Research Scientist in the Production Biology Department of Nofima’s Aquaculture Division. His work focuses on fish welfare documentation, production protocols, and aquaculture production technologies, with particular emphasis on recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) and semi-closed marine farming facilities.

He has a background in aquaculture and brings hands-on experience from smolt production, combined with a PhD focused on the analysis of production data from the aquaculture industry.
