She completed her PhD at NMBU in 2011, researching stress physiology in salmonids.<\/p>\n<p>Her research focuses particularly on how environmental and biological factors affect fish physiology, development and phenotypic plasticity. In recent years, cardiac physiology and heart disease in farmed Atlantic salmon have been key areas of research.<\/p>\n<p>The salmon heart is a highly plastic organ that can change in size, shape and function in response to physiological and environmental influences.
